Bleach* Festival is just around the corner, taking place from Feb 15th at various locations across the Gold Coast. This coastal-inspired arts and culture festival has plenty to appeal to beach lovers of all ages, with a program offering everything from outdoor movies by the sea to art installations in shipping containers. Here’s our Top 7 Events not to be missed.

1. Bleach* Treasure Trove: Feb 15th

Bring the whole family along to Paradise Point for a special outdoor theatrical performance of beloved children’s classic Treasure Island by Queensland Theatre Company. This free outdoor event will also host a twilight edition of The Village Markets and a spectacular over-water artistic performance by Polytoxic. Enjoy some quality theatre, music and fashion at Bleach* Treasure Trove.

2. Orchestral Manoeuvres on the Park: Feb 17th

Be prepared to be dazzled by projections of epic proportions at Bleach* Festival’s Orchestral Manoeuvres In the Park. Combining the Gold Coast Philharmonic Orchestra, choral choirs and Trade Winds, and over-water performance with large-scale animations, this theatrical experience at Palm Beach Parklands is not to be missed! Performances begin 5.30pm on Sunday 17th February - all free, all welcome!

3. Bleach Boulevard: Feb 23rd

Currumbin will play host to a plethora of activities including live music, theatre and fashionable The Village Markets. For kids, there’s free workshops, kids’ theatre, surfing lessons and Beachology workshops happening all day long.

4. Eat Street: Feb 23rd

Tugun’s Tooloona Street will be transformed into an outdoor dining extravaganza under the stars. Savour your favourite Tugun take-outs at a 20m long communal table and let your hair down to live music from Living Room with Kacey Patrick, take a stroll through pop-up twilight markets or enjoy the premiere of local short film ‘4224’ by Jeff Licence.

5. Sunday Session: Feb 24th

Nobody in Australia does Sunday Sessions better than Gold Coasters and what better way to kick back on a Sunday afternoon than at Elephant Rock Café. Back by popular demand, Bleach* Festival invites you to join us for an afternoon of lazy cocktails, nibblies and incredible music by the amazing Nat Dunn for a blissful afternoon in true Gold Coast style.

6. This Is It: 1-2nd Mar

Blurring the lines between fiction and reality, join Team Mess as they bring their improvised theatre experience This Is It to Bleach* Festival 2013 for two big performances at Rabbit & Cocoon. Staged like a press conference for a fictional movie, join in on the fun to help unravel the unfolding plot for This Is It – a performance sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.

7. Sway on Sunset: 2 Mar

For high fashion lovers, this extravagant poolside fashion soiree at Coolangatta’s Komune Resort features maxi dress fashions from national and local labels, a synchronised swimming set, and live music from the sublime Ginger and The Ghost. Grab a seat by the poolside catwalk for this fashion extravaganza
