Set sail for an evening of theatre, music, markets and installation performances by the Broadwater.

This free community event will take place on Friday the 15th of February from 5pm– 9pm, with entertainment for the whole family as part of the Pre Bleach* Weekend, for a taste of the south in the north.

TREASURE ISLAND

Pirates, buried treasure, sword fights, treasure maps, muskets! Queensland Theatre Company’s acclaimed family theatrical wonderland, Treasure Island, comes to the Gold Coast for its only outdoor production in Australia. A new adaption of the original classic pirate tale, Treasure Island is a magical coming of age story that explores themes of adventure and escapism, role models, and overcoming fears.

Join us as Queensland Theatre Company and Matrix Theatre bring this timeless children’s story to life in a spectacular water-side setting.

Treasure Island will be performed twice at both 5.20pm and 7.20pm

TRADE WINDS

Explore the boundaries of performance and art with the visually stunning Trade Winds, a Polynesian inspired outdoor installation piece staged over Paradise Point’s steely waters. Created by Brisbane based dance theatre company Polytoxic, Trade Winds evokes the spirit of the Pacific as two women navigate across watery depths.

Trade Winds was developed with the support of 2012 FreeRange at Metro Arts, and has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body.
