Presented by BLEACH*
Get ready to marvel as demi-DEMO arrive and unleash their explosive energy in the park with a team of champion skaters, BMXers, parkourists and dancers.
With freakish skills, high speed and the danger level amped up, demi-DEMO is a short performance of tightly choreographed dare-devilry, followed by a 30-minute workshop with the performers. After experiencing the amazing acrobatic artistry of a street-style performance, the audience has the opportunity to meet the artists and learn practical and confidence-building techniques in skateboarding, BMX, parkour/freerunning and dance, direct from the pros. Ages 6+ and beginners to intermediates are welcome.
With over two decades of experience, a swag of awards, and extensive national and international touring, Branch Nebula is one of Australia’s most adventurous companies. Branch Nebula is a multiple award-winning physical theatre company with a long track record of presenting sell out shows at festivals and regional venues. Since 1999, Branch Nebula’s gritty street explosions have amazed audiences all over the world, from Brazil to Hong Kong, and Finland to Chile, as well as over 20 Australian skate parks. They feature champion skaters, BMXers, and parkourists who have performed with Nitro Circus and Cirque Du Soleil, and are highly ranked professional competitors.
This event takes place outdoors on a concrete surface. No seating is provided, but patrons are welcome to bring their own seating if needed for access.
The performance is movement-based, with some incidental sound and music and is suitable for audiences who are D/deaf or hard of hearing.
The workshop takes place on the performance surface - a concrete/bitumen type surface with several ramps and skate obstacles present.
Patrons are encouraged to get in contact with the BLEACH* team to discuss their specific access needs via [email protected].org.au or 07 5525 6468.
