General information

BLEACH* is the Gold Coast’s annual contemporary arts festival. The festival has a growing national and international reputation for creating experiences and telling stories that are out of the box, authentic and uniquely connected to place.

BLEACH* is proudly local, celebrating the city’s best artists, welcoming renowned Australian and international artists and engaging a broad audience through a range of experiences with the magnificent coastline of southern Queensland as a backdrop.

In BLEACH*’s 13-year history they have premiered more than 70 commissions, won the Sidney Myer Performing Arts Group Award and played a pivotal role in curating and delivering the ambitious 2018 Commonwealth Games Cultural program.

Founded in 2023, Experience Gold Coast was created when five of the city’s major entities merged to become one organisation with the mission to drive growth and opportunities for tourism, events, education and arts and culture.

Adopting the proven formula of other global cities, Experience Gold Coast, amalgamates the functions previously delivered by HOTA, Destination Gold Coast, Major Events Gold Coast, Study Gold Coast and Placemakers.

Capitalising on valuable collaboration, greater alignment and new opportunities created by this united team, Experience Gold Coast drives a dynamic future for the Gold Coast with a collective focus on cementing our city’s global reputation as the Lifestyle Capital of Australia.

The best is yet to come for this city and Experience Gold Coast presents the opportunity to propel our city’s success through an agile, partnership led, digitally robust and visitor-focused strategy. With a clear remit to drive growth in the visitor economy, education, major events and arts and culture, Experience Gold Coast will elevate and transform the perception of the Gold Coast, leverage our enviable lifestyle and idyllic climate, repositioning the city as a premier global lifestyle destination.

With a united team and a more powerful voice for our city, Experience Gold Coast promotes, advocates, and collaborates with industry, government, and the community to drive sustainable growth of visitation, expenditure and experiences that benefit our community culturally, economically, and socially.

Our 13th anniversary will be 1 – 11 August 2024.

BLEACH* Festival 2024 will be held across four locations including North Burleigh, Broadbeach Cultural Precinct, HOTA, Home of the Arts and Tallebudgera Valley.

We love our printed program as much as you do, but this year we are only printing a limited run and encourage everyone to view the program online. Program Guides will be available at various cultural hubs across the city throughout August. However, all programming information, including any updates and changes can be found here on this very website. We encourage this site to be your go-to source for festival information.
