JOSEPH O’FARRELL (JOF)
Presented by BLEACH*
Surrender to the beat at the best dance party of your life. For 10 blissful minutes, leave everything on the dance floor as a beautiful collision of art, colour, costume and community comes together.
Stop by before a show, kick off the beginning of a big night, or simply shimmy on in when the music beckons you. Expect world record attempts, dance move competitions and ventures into the unknown. Running from Friday to Sunday all festival long, this is YOUR dance party, take it where you wish.
Joseph O’Farrell (JOF) is a multi-art performer, producer, curator, musician and lecturer making work nationally and internationally from his home base in Naarm/Melbourne. JOF creates large-scale installation/theatre works with and for community, that celebrate our diversity and bring people together in hilarious and unlikely situations.
The event takes place in a large shipping container-like structure, with minimal natural light. Loud music and theatrical lighting are present throughout the event. The event is participatory, with audience members encouraged to take to the dance floor.
Relaxed performances
Relaxed sessions of the event will be held each day. These sessions will have reduced music volume, reduced lighting effect speeds and audience members encouraged to enter and exit the space as they need to remain comfortable.
Relaxed session times
Friday 4 and Friday 11 August - 4pm
Saturday 5 and Saturday 12 August - 12pm
Sunday 6 August and Sunday 13 August - 12pm
Audiences wishing to attend the relaxed sessions are encouraged to register via the booking link.
The event is able to be tailored further to suit the needs of individuals or groups. Please contact our team prior to registering, or approach the Front of House staff on the day to discuss how we can assist.
