VANESSA TOMLINSON AND TIM MUNRO
Presented by BLEACH* and Griffith University
Transport to a world of musical wonder, as composer Vanessa Tomlinson, triple Grammy award-winning flautist Tim Munro and Queensland Conservatorium students take you on a captivating sensory experience.
Beside a tree-lined tranquil lake, settle in for an afternoon of two truly unique performances. Blending the natural symphony of the outdoors with haunting strains of woodwind and percussion instruments, it’s time to surrender your senses to this immersive melodic journey.
Chicago-based triple-Grammy-award-winning flautist, writer and teacher Tim Munro is bringing his musical prowess to BLEACH*. After touring the US and internationally, premiering more than 100 works and co-curating festivals, Tim recently became Associate Professor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University in Brisbane. His passion for large-scale, immersive projects, puts listeners in the centre of the musical experience.
Dedicated to exploring how sound shapes our lives and awakens our soul, percussive artist Professor Vanessa Tomlinson uses a variety of instruments and objects to craft immersive sensory experiences. Using her knowledge of time, space and objects to build haunting compositions, Vanessa has spent more than 25 years touring the world before bringing her incredible sound to BLEACH*.
This event is primarily sound based, with sound and some visual components throughout. Sight is not essential to be able to engage with the work.
