CLAIRE EDWARDES
Presented by BLEACH*
Roll out a picnic blanket on the banks of the Nerang River for a truly unique concert series that uses the Gold Coast’s natural beauty as its stage.
“The sorceress of percussion”, Claire Edwardes OAM, performs from a barge on her giant marimba, mellow vibraphone and drums—taking you on a musical journey through wireless headphones. Serenading you into the sunset, Claire’s program takes its inspiration from the natural world around us with musical reflections on the nature of water, ancient fertility rites and falling embers inspired by the east coast’s most recent bushfire season. This award-winning musician crafts melodic beats that truly move you.
Dubbed ‘the sorceress of percussion’, and the only Australian artist to win the APRA Art Music Luminary Award four times, Claire Edwardes crafts melodic beats that truly move you.
This event is primarily audio based, with music and sound central to the work. The audio is delivered to the audience member via a set of wireless headphones, provided by BLEACH*.
Seating for this event is outdoors, on a grassed inclined embankment next to the Nerang River. Seating will be limited and audience members with specific seating needs should get in contact with our team to discuss how we can best accommodate their needs.
