In celebration of a decade of creative excellence and exploration, The Farm are bringing their unique brand of award-winning, genre-busting creativity to BLEACH*.
In a Queensland-first, the Gold Coast-based performance group will premiere TEN, a brand new work, made in public, during the festival. Come down to the North Burleigh Hub and watch the show come to life as the ensemble choreograph, write, film and rehearse in public. And if ‘the making of’ is not your thing, then join us for the world premiere of TEN on Saturday the 10th of August.
TEN delves deep into The Farm’s 10 year-strong repertoire of bold, inclusive and non-conforming art that will test boundaries and deliver moments of shock, joy and revelation. It promised to be a colourful triumph of movement, sound and theatre, don’t miss the Queensland premiere at the festival’s outdoor stage in Burleigh.
The final performance on Saturday 10 August will be Auslan interpreted.

Sometimes brash, always bold and insightful, The Farm’s contemporary performances shows a unique ability to connect with anyone, from dance aficionados to theatre virgins, and has been described as the ‘gateway drug to contemporary performance’. Our company is built on a choreographic legacy that spans 20 years. Over the last 10 years they have been pushing the boundaries of contemporary performance by challenging preconceptions of what it is and where it can be viewed. From a drive-in B grade horror performance in a Showgrounds, to a 48 hour durational improvisation on a sandbar, we have proven ourselves to be bold re-imaginers of the ways contemporary performance can affect the lives of everyday people.
The performance on Sat 10 August, 7pm will be Auslan interpreted. Audience members should register by selecting 'Auslan viewing' when registering.
The viewing area for this work is a grassed area, with a natural incline toward the performance stage. An accessible viewing area (with a temporary flooring surface adjacent to the paved pathway) will be in place for those requiring a more flat, sturdy surface from which to watch the performance.
The event is primarily visual - having minimal dialogue and some background music or sounds, so Deaf and hard of hearing audiences can have close to the full experience of the work.
