Artists

ERIK GRISWOLD

Erik Griswold is a composer and pianist working in contemporary classical, improvised, and experimental forms. Particular interests include prepared piano, percussion, environmental music, and music of Sichuan province. Originally from San Diego, and now residing in Brisbane, he composes for adventurous musicians, performs as a soloist and in Clocked Out, and collaborates with musicians, artists, dancers, and poets.

BREE VAN REYK

Bree van Reyk is a drummer, percussionist, composer, sound artist and occasional maker of unkempt musical instruments. Her solo performances centre on exploring minimal, experimental, and meditative experiential soundscapes using rustic, self-invented instruments and found objects. Recent commissions include new works for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Dark MOFO, Sydney Chamber Opera, Monafoma, Darren Hanlon and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. Bree has forged a unique career collaborating with artists such as Gurrumul, Paul Kelly, Sarah Blasko, and the Australian Chamber Orchestra.

Karl S Williams

A genre defying, multi-instrumentalist and award-winning artist with a voice and conviction so powerful it takes your breath away. Karl's music is timeless and deeply rooted in tradition yet ever conversant with the present. Drawing from folk, blues and gospel his songs are steeped in the swamp water of the northern NSW cane country where he was raised, lending the distinct flavour of this land to all his work.
Distilling life, love and the human condition, his music calls with urgency and sings without apology. His solution and vocation: to love more. A Karl S. Williams performance - either solo or with his band - is frequently referred to as a spiritual experience, leaving an audience slightly altered in the best way possible.
